This could suit some people, especially if a quiet setting is what you want. The resort looks beautiful, the rooms were clean, the front desk staff were friendly and helpful, and the free breakfast had plenty to choose from. Nights were quiet, with no clubs or loud music. But there’s not much nearby in the way of restaurants, nightlife, or attractions, and it’s a long way from tourist spots. We spent roughly 1000 baht a day on taxis or shuttles. Outside the front desk, staff spoke limited English, so communicating was often difficult without Google Translate, and sometimes they still couldn’t understand us. The pool closes at 8pm. Our room had pool access, but little privacy because it faced the outdoor dining area, where diners could see inside unless we kept the curtains shut all day. The spa was a small massage parlour with affordable prices, but waits could be long since they couldn’t handle several people at once. It was peaceful, but quite a few things could have made our stay better.

The room and resort looked beautiful, and the peaceful atmosphere was relaxing. We enjoyed the tasty breakfast and its good variety, and still had a nice stay. There’s a transfer service to nearby beaches, which helped since the resort is far from most beaches and main attractions. Communication was a struggle because staff spoke limited English, even for simple requests like scissors. Our terrace door broke, and despite several repair attempts, it wasn’t fixed. It had to stay open for almost two days while they worked on it, which made things less comfortable. We also weren’t satisfied with the pool cleanliness, and the service felt less attentive and warm than at other Phuket resorts we visited. Lalynn Resort and Villas is a calm, attractive place with potential, but compared with those other resorts, I’d give it four stars.

The staff were outstanding, the Wi-Fi exceptionally fast, and the coffee was outstanding too. This newer place is clean, organized, and fun, though they’re still figuring some things out. Each room has a refrigerator, crisp new TVs, and a patio with steps into the pool that runs around the property. The water temperature was amazing, and rooms were serviced daily. A few very large grocery stores are within walking distance for meals, snacks, or alcohol. The location isn’t built up much, isn’t by a beach or popular spots, and sits on one side of a divided highway. With a scooter it’s easy enough to get around, though taking the roundabout and getting back to the hotel takes a little nerve. My wife and I rode one to the far south of the island in about 25 minutes. Breakfast, though, was absolutely horrible for me: poor choices and virtually no Western options. There were some Asian dishes, including porridge, baked beans, and chicken sausage. The coffee was excellent, and I could always get a sandwich down the street. Apart from breakfast, it was a really cool experience and I’d definitely return.

It’s a peaceful place to relax, and I’d definitely come back, though I’d rent a car. The resort is a lovely spot, with spacious rooms and pool access. The pool is big, and you can swim straight from your room to the bar and restaurant. The staff are very nice, though knowing more English would help. The location was a concern since the beaches are about an hour’s drive away, but there’s a mall with everything just a five-minute walk away, so it wasn’t a problem for us.
