The biggest drawback was the shortage of beach sunbeds. There were plenty by the pool, but guests tended to claim the few beach ones early, despite the hotel asking them not to reserve them. For families, though, Sunwing Bang Tao Beach Hotel is a great choice. It sits right on clear, clean Bang Tao Beach, a long stretch that’s lovely for walks, with beachfront restaurants, smoothie stands, and massage spots. Kids enjoyed the small slides, and the active animation team ran water activities through the day. The staff were friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout. Our room was good, with comfortable beds and especially nice pillows. Breakfast had a wide range of tasty options. We stayed two days at the start of our Phuket trip and were very happy with the choice.

With our two-year-old, staying at Sunwing Bangtao turned out to be a great decision. The beach access was excellent, and the three or four pools made the stay wonderful. It rained quite a bit, but we didn’t mind. Everyone on staff was polite and helpful. Breakfast was good, though it was the same each of our seven days, with no different cuisines, which was a bit disappointing. We thoroughly enjoyed the stay and highly recommend it.

We spent six nights at Sunwing Bangtao Beach, and it was one of the best hotels we’ve stayed at as a family of four. There are several pools, and the waterslide was a hit with the kids and the dads alike. The pool bar’s happy hour was fun for the adults, and the well-kept ping-pong tables gave everyone something to do. The service was exceptional, and the massages were incredible for unwinding. Breakfast at the buffet had loads of choice and a beautiful ocean view just a few meters away. We especially enjoyed the well-prepared Thai dishes at the main restaurant. It’s a little remote, but that brings some peace and quiet away from the crowds. With all the activities and thoughtful amenities, it worked wonderfully for parents and kids. Highly recommended for a relaxing, fun stay.

For the price, location, and amenities, we were very satisfied. Our room was large, clean, and in good shape, with a nice sofa bed, kitchenette sink, dishes, microwave, a decent-sized fridge, and a balcony with a table and chairs. Our young kids loved the six pools. There’s a fairly large waterslide and a small one that suits toddlers, plus free beach toys and the beach just steps from the pools. We didn’t join the kids club activities, but they looked fun. The hotel restaurants were okay, though somewhat pricey. The massage place right on the beach was great value, around 300-400 baht for an hour. Great hotel, setting, and pools.

Spacious rooms, lots of room around the pool, and great service and housekeeping throughout our stay. It’s a good hotel for kids. The playroom, though, is very dated and has lots of broken toys. It wasn’t suitable for toddlers and needs a refresh.
