Thalang Resort

This wasn’t a good place for a holiday. It’s far from beaches, restaurants, and the places you might want to visit, so you need to rent a car or motorbike. There are no services at all. I stayed for two weeks, and staff cleaned my room only twice, both times after I asked. The room looked nice, but it was dark and dirty, and the staff didn’t speak English. There’s also a chicken farm next to the resort. If you don’t want to waste your holiday, don’t stay here.

The room looked nothing like I expected from the pictures, and it was the worst place I’ve ever booked. Dirt covered the walls, dead spiders hung from the ceiling, and an open fan left a way for critters to get in. The mattress was rock hard, a light bulb was missing, and the lighting was poor. The air conditioner was noisy and didn’t cool the room. The bathroom smelled awful, there was wet tissue paper, and black mould under the sink. The towels were dirty, the fridge had rubbish from the last guests, and the drawers were dirty too. There was just one clothes hanger, mangled and unusable. The sink drained onto the floor. We asked for the room to be cleaned and the drain fixed, but the cleaners only mopped the floor, and a girl from the desk came with silicone for the sink. We couldn’t stay in room number 12, so we tried to cancel and get a refund. The girl laughed, then called her manager, who said I’d have to pay 900 baht to get a refund. I normally wouldn’t write a review, but I want to warn people. I regret not taking photos to post here. It was high season, everywhere was fully booked, and the situation caused me a lot of stress. I just needed to get out before it made me ill. Don’t waste your time or money booking or staying here.

We spent a month living in Talang during peak season and paid 15kBatt for the month. The houses were cozy, quiet, and peaceful, and we were very happy with the service. Water and coffee arrived every morning, and the WiFi was very fast at 250mb/s with a ping of 40. When branches started hitting our roof at night, the staff cut off all the leaves. Thanks to the people here, and wishing the place success and great things! There were downsides: the toilet could be dirty, there were lots of mosquitoes, and the house got very noisy when it rained. Still, the service was excellent, the best in Phuket, 200%.

Prices are reasonable, and it’s a good place to spend the night. It’s a bit far from everything, but that shouldn’t be an issue if you ride a bike.
