Parima Hotel

The front desk staff were especially friendly. When we needed help warming up some food, she was happy to do it. Breakfast was good, with local kanom jeen, curry with rice noodles, plus several menu choices. The room was spacious and nice, though an extra chair or a couch would help. The new hotel has good service overall. The gym is pretty bare, just one lifting and stretching machine. One or two treadmills would make it feel like a proper gym.

The modern look has some local character, and the place feels welcoming. Our room was clean and roomy, a comfortable place to relax. The staff were friendly and attentive throughout, which made the stay pleasant. A well-kept hotel in Trang with good service, and one I'd recommend for a comfortable visit.

Breakfast was the best part for me. I had about 7 cups of coffee, it was just that good. The staff were lovely and ready to help, and the pool looked big and clean, though the weather kept us from swimming. There's also a kids' playroom with toys beside the lobby, and plenty of parking. Lots of restaurants are nearby, so good food is easy to find without going far. We got tamarind juice when we checked in, and everything only got better from there. The rooms are clean and modern and smell nice, especially the hallways, which I think is from some oils they burn. I came away with only good things to say.

We liked the strong but quiet air conditioning, and the modern minimalist loft design, though the hallway floors look unfinished and I don't really understand that choice. The hotel looks beautiful and new, but it's advertised as 5 star and feels more like a 4 star place. The room design has some awkward gaps: no outlets or light switches by the beds, and no shelves or drawers for clothes. There wasn't even an electrical outlet in our bathroom, so my wife had to dry her hair in the entry hall. The gym is a tiny room with a weight machine and bench, without dumbbells or cardio equipment, which you'd normally expect in a hotel gym. There's a small children's playroom on the ground floor, but the atmosphere felt more aimed at couples, older guests, or business travelers looking for a quiet or romantic stay. The pool looks very nice. The restaurant has a good wine selection and the chef's food is quite good, but the room is too cold and the food doesn't stay warm for long. The hotel gave us a voucher for one free dinner and a 20% discount, which was a lovely surprise.
