It's a clean, quiet, affordable place, with decent WiFi, a fridge, a huge bed, complimentary toiletries, and bottles of water. It's a little away from the center, down a back alley, but the many well lit signs make it easy to find. There's a big Tesco Lotus, several coin laundromats, and some restaurants close by. The nearby airport isn't something to worry about, as Ubon only has a few flights a day.

Don't waste your time. I asked the receptionist if there was a room available, and she said there was and asked me to fill out the check-in form. I had a question I wanted answered first. She didn't speak English, which is understandable at a small hotel in Thailand, so I asked in Thai instead. She called two people, then opened a phrasebook and read, "sorry our hotel is full tonight." That was obviously a lie. If she couldn't help, she could have just said so. The cheap shot felt completely unprofessional and disrespectful. As I was leaving, I noticed an extremely loud dog barking across from the hotel. I'm glad I didn't stay. There are much better places in Ubon.

It's not a bad place. The mall and shops are not far away...
