We ate at the restaurant floating on the river, and the food was good by Thai standards, including for Westerners who enjoy Thai food. Breakfast, though, had limited choices and the portions weren’t very large. The pool could use a clean, but it stays open during the low and dry season, when many other pools in the area don’t. For sleeping arrangements, the reasonably priced “cozy container” rooms worked well for giving our children separate rooms, since there are no twin-bed rooms. They really are cozy. We also had a modern villa that was spacious and comfortable. Every room was clean, with a terrace or, upstairs, a balcony. There isn’t much storage for clothes or suitcases, which could bother you on a longer stay, but it wasn’t an issue during our short visit. It’s a quaint little resort beside the mun river.

We’d definitely stay here again. The resort sits beautifully on the bank of the Moon River, and the sunset over the water more than makes up for a pool that’s a bit lackluster. Dinner at the in-house restaurant, served right by the water, was outstanding. Staff were incredibly friendly, and the clean, well-appointed rooms had generous amenities, from strong Wi-Fi, electric kettles, bathrobes, and toiletries to room-to-room telephones. There’s also lots of outdoor garden space, which gives the place a vintage feel alongside all the modern conveniences. Many local attractions, including Kaeng Tana National Park and the Bi-Color River, are 20-30 minutes away.

This is good value if you’re after a quiet riverside break, halfway between Khong Khiam and Phibun Mangsahan. Check-in was excellent: fluent English, a warm welcome, and a cool drink. The modern cabin room was spacious and functional, with working Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, and bathroom shower. There are several room styles, from compact rooms and container rooms to suites. We enjoyed both dinner and breakfast. Breakfast was 150 baht including coffee, with Thai and Western options. The restaurant was closed at lunchtime, but there was a noodle café about 1km down the road. The riverside pool was completely overgrown. The above-ground pool was clean, but needs maintenance because some of its edges are dangerously sharp.

The room was clean, and breakfast was good with more than enough to eat. The facilities and amenities were perfect, though some felt dated during our rainy-season stay. It’s a little pricey, but I found it worth staying here. The location was no problem for us with a car, even though it’s 13 kms from central Piboonmangsahan district.
