Srisomthai Hotel

For about 470 baht, we got a large, very clean room. The building is older, with unusual concrete architecture, and the aircon takes a while to cool the room.

The bathroom is laid out separately, and the room has plenty of space, good wifi, a minifridge and a clothes cupboard. Breakfast options are limited, though everything available was good and inexpensive, paid at the counter. It's a well-equipped, affordable choice for a couple of days in this commercial area, close to Thung Sri Mueang park and the airport.

The room was big and clean, and very quiet. The internet was decent, the shower had nice hot water, and the aircon stayed cold. Nothing fancy, just a reliable low budget room.

I planned to stay two nights but left after one. In room A3, the bed was so hard it felt like plywood covered with cardboard, and the pillows were very flat. The refrigerator was loud whenever its compressor kicked in, like a motorcycle starting. I could also hear people walking around in the room above. Power shuts off when you leave, except for the refrigerator, so I couldn't charge my phone while I was out. At check-in, the clerk didn't speak English. The TV had cable, but only five channels, none in English. The room was spacious and very clean, and the AC was quiet and worked well. The shower had strong pressure and plenty of hot water. The location is near shopping, restaurants and sightseeing. For those good points, I give it two stars; otherwise, it would have been one.
