I’m grateful for the care and attention I received from the manager, and all our interactions were very positive. The room and my comfort as a tenant, though, were a different story. There’s no staff on site. When I arrived, nobody was there, and neither of the phone numbers on the reception booth worked. By luck, a tenant knew how to reach the person in charge and called for me. I told the manager that the listed numbers were out of service, but they didn’t correct them. We arranged a check-in for the next day. I appreciated being allowed in at 12:30, but my blanket and pillow didn’t arrive until 6:15 pm, and the towels came at 7:15 pm. One towel was stained, as shown in the attached picture. In room 604, the large ceiling lamp started making a horrible noise after about ten minutes, as shown in the video. All the bulbs give off a whitish light, which I personally find unpleasant because I prefer yellow light. The bathroom bulb went out a few days later. With no staff on site, I had nobody to tell, and felt bad calling the manager to come just for that. The aircon remote was universal and wouldn’t pair with the unit. The manager got it paired, but it stopped working again that same evening, so I could only use the main power switch. The shower head fell off whenever I showered. The faucet also kept moving close to the sink wall, so I had to pull it away by hand each time, as shown in the attached video. The socket by the bed worked with a Chinese plug but not my European plug with round pins, so I couldn’t connect my laptop there. A gecko was living in the room, and there were droppings between the wardrobe and table, plus dust on top of the wardrobe. Those were cleaned after I told the manager, after I’d already checked in. Wi-Fi kept disconnecting and wasn’t strong enough for my work, which needs a stable, continuous connection, so I had to buy a larger mobile data package and hotspot myself. There was no toilet paper, so I bought my own at 7-eleven. There was no rubbish bin or rubbish bags either, and I had to buy those too. The bathroom door was missing its inside handle, and the bumgun holder was loose. There were also two very small frogs in the bathroom, as shown in the picture. One day, two cleaners came to sweep and clear away fallen leaves, but they didn’t sweep in front of my house. The leaves and someone’s receipt that were there when I checked in were still by my door. At night, the wind made the front door move back and forth and disturbed me. During the day it didn’t bother me, but at night I had to put something heavy beside it to stop it moving. The table and stool were too low for me, so sitting there wasn’t comfortable. I work on a laptop all day, and the lack of back support was bad for my back. I started having backache and had to get a massage after a few days.
