Tohsang Khongjiam Resort & Spa

The breakfast setting, outside with a view of the Mighty Mekong, was the best I’ve come across anywhere. I’ve stayed in hundreds of places around the world. There’s thick-cut bread, peanut butter, tea, even Fruit Loops, and you can help yourself to cooked breakfast or order it from the menu. It’s really good. The staff are attentive and extremely good, though you may need Google Translator. The grounds are beautifully kept, too. A peaceful place to stay and relax.

We came back after staying here last year, and this time none of the rooms had a bad smell. We started in a deluxe room with a lovely river view, then upgraded to a villa by the café. Everything worked well in the room. The pool was great, and the hotel has replaced all the sunbeds since our last visit. They’re comfortable, with mattresses and pillows, and there are large umbrellas if you need shade. Food and drinks are on the expensive side, though still worth it, and breakfast is ok. We enjoyed our stay again and hope to return.

The Mekong-side setting is what stood out most, especially waking up to the sunrise. The pool looks out over the scenery, and there are seating spots by the river among the lush, well-kept gardens. It’s spacious and quiet, a very peaceful place to slow down and relax. We stayed at Tohsang Heritage Khongjiam Resort (Tohsang Heritage Khong Chiam).

The riverside views were incredible, and the sunset was unforgettable. It’s also close to the province’s main highlights, so it worked well as a base for exploring. The hotel was spotless and spacious, with modern technology alongside local design and character. The facilities had everything we needed for a comfortable, stylish stay. Breakfast was very good, and the staff and service were delightful. I was impressed by the whole experience and would definitely come back if I’m in the area again.
