Garden Villa Khaolak

I usually don't leave bad reviews, even after 30 years of traveling, but the manager's reaction here really shocked me. We stayed on 27-29/12/2024. The resort itself was okay, 3/5, and service was fairly okay, 2.5/5. Rooms weren't cleaned in the morning, and breakfast took an hour for them to make a toast. The tours felt amateurish too, with guides and drivers who didn't speak a single word of English. The main problem came after a boat trip in Kao Sok National Park arranged by the resort. It was supposed to be a two-hour private tour, but our guide spent 40 minutes at a restaurant eating and drinking with friends. The manager apologized when we raised it. When we later and quietly asked if they could take 1000 bat off the bill as a small gesture for the missed part, less than 5%, she reacted rudely and unprofessionally, shouting and making the rest of our stay uncomfortable. It wasn't about the money, but about how a guest is treated after a bad experience. If you stay here, I hope you don't need help or have anything to complain about, because you may end up facing the manager's anger.

The bungalows looked brand new and were spotless, all in a beautiful setting. There's a mini mart, restaurant, and scooter hire on site. The staff were friendly and spoke English. I loved it here, and would still have been happy if it had cost twice as much. Highly recommend.

We spent five days in one of the lovely bungalows and enjoyed the whole stay. It had everything we needed to relax, and the staff were warm and always ready to help. Thanks for everything, we'll be back! There's a scooter rental, a small family-run supermarket on the property, and the hotel restaurant is well worth trying.
