The owner was the best part for me: she’s so kind, attentive, and caring. Since she lives there with her family, it also feels reassuring to know they’re around if something comes up. Thanks a lot! The apartment is on a quiet road, about a minute’s walk from the main road. Nong Bua market and Big C are both within walking distance. My room had sockets on either side of the bed, plus a table that worked for eating or using my laptop. There was air conditioning and a water heater, and downstairs I loved using the dispenser for boiling water to make coffee and tea. It’s 400 baht a night, or 3,200 baht monthly excluding bills. I’d happily stay here again on my next visit to Ubon Ratchathani.

For a longer stay, this is a very nice option, especially at these prices, which are a real bargain. It’s centrally located on a quiet residential street at Chayankun Soi 30, with a choice of Thai-style and Western-style rooms. There’s no restaurant on site, but an Italian restaurant and 7-Eleven are nearby. The staff are pleasant and accommodating, and laundry is available for very little. Rooms are simple but clean. The queen-size beds are very firm, and there are 220v outlets on the nightstands. The bathroom sink only has cold water, and there’s no shaver or hair dryer outlet. The Western-style shower has a handheld spray and a tankless heater, though the water pressure is fairly moderate. A mini-fridge is tucked into the armoire. Bottled water is provided daily, along with hot water for instant coffee or tea. The flat-screen TV has satellite or cable, with lots of channels, mostly Thai, plus some English and Indian/Hindi. There’s no room safe, but security is good.

For 400 baht, the room was clean and comfortable. I could get hot water down the hall, and parking worked well for my motorcycle. The internet was slow, and there was no remote for the air conditioning. An English sign would be helpful.

It’s a really peaceful place, right in the heart of the city, and the staff are genuinely friendly. There’s a nearby pizza restaurant serving awesome pizza and more. I’ve been here three times with my Thai friend Khun Ton. Bravo Wangthai TEAM

A cool, affordable hotel in a handy location, with the best hosts you could ask for.
