YUU HOTEL UBONRATCHATANI

The YUU Hotel is beautifully decorated, and I loved how the unusual design comes together. I suspect it used to be an old hotel that was renovated beyond recognition. As far as I can tell, an artist or artists were given room to innovate throughout; even the elevator mirrors are enhanced with oil paintings. That style sits alongside more formal blue-and-white wall plates and small reproductions of famous artworks. It could have been a mess, but somehow it works delightfully. The whole place is very instagrammable, which explains why the cafe and lobby are often full of young people, mostly women, taking very instagrammable pictures of one another. Breakfast is included, with a choice of set mains and a buffet of muesli with chia, yogurt, black Rice Krispies, ba tong go, Thai sweets, toast, and fruit. It was excellent and filling. The lobby cafe’s coffees are superb. Amadela, the restaurant connected to reception, has an extensive menu of hot and spicy Isan food, and I think there’s live music every evening at seven. I tried the foot massage and thought it was excellent. The rooms are big enough, though the bathrooms are a little small for comfort. The air conditioning can be fierce and hard to adjust. All the staff were delightful, friendly, and ready to help.

The breakfast has several choices and tastes delicious, worth every penny. The room was clean and had useful amenities. If you have trouble sleeping, ask for a room away from the street, though by 22:00 the street is quiet. It’s a lovely place, just a short walk from Thung Sri Muang Park, where lots of local people walk, run, and play basketball. Come support this little gem, I guarantee you’ll love it. ❤️

It’s a cozy boutique style hotel in a central part of the city. The room was spacious and had a balcony, with a clean, comfortable bed and especially nice pillows. Breakfast offered an à la carte meal alongside an adequate buffet selection. The staff were friendly and helpful. My room’s TV needed repair, but otherwise everything was good.

The breakfast was very good, and the restaurant served good food with really nice staff. The boutique hotel has interesting decor, though it’s showing its age. Watch out for the divider on the floor near the bathroom, it’s easy to trip over.
