The Baycliff By Villacarte

We were meant to stay at the Baycliff Residences, but our room wasn't available, so they moved us to The Privilege, which is connected to Baycliff. The two newer buildings have the same layout and owner, and we were able to use facilities at both. Our room was roomy and modern, with a well-equipped, fully usable kitchen, two large TVs, a bathroom jacuzzi, and a balcony with a mountain view. There’s also a decent ground-floor gym and pool access around the clock. We wanted to walk every day, and the location worked well for that, about 2-3 km from Patong Beach. I’d read that reception closes at midnight, but during our stay it was open 24 hours. For what I paid, it felt like a real bargain.

The hygiene could use some work, and the Wi-Fi is slow because the router is in the main corridor. It’s also a long way from town. At around 170 USD a night, I don’t think it’s worth the price.

We liked our stay because none of us minded the stairs, and we brought our own food for the whole time. The room was clean, spacious, and had a jacuzzi, and the pool and staff were good too. But our room was very high up, more than 60 steps away, so it’s not suitable for senior citizens. There’s no room service or hotel restaurant.

The rooms weren’t clean, and some rooms don’t have a bathroom. No one was around to help move luggage, and there was no service at all despite the high cost. I was fully disappointed and wouldn’t recommend staying here.
