BE CAREFUL, DON'T BOOK HERE! The hotel should be closed. My cash disappeared from the room, and the owner, Game, didn’t care. There was another problem too: I’d booked four months ahead, but when I checked in they said they had no reservation for me. Instead, they put me in a filthy, horrible-smelling room with insects. Even for 100 baht a day, I’d rather sleep on the street. Listen to me, don’t book here.

The rooms are modest in size but generally clean and okay, and mine had a nice little balcony. Wi-Fi worked fine, though breakfast wasn’t included. The price is reasonable, but not especially cheap compared with other hotels. There are small bars, restaurants and a little night market nearby, although the hotel is a bit off the beaten track. The street gets noisy and has a lot of traffic. There was a loud concert the first night, but it didn’t seem to happen regularly. The open-air lobby is nice, the staff are friendly, and the small lift worked well. The stairs up to the lobby are very steep and have no handrail, which could be an accident waiting to happen. The air conditioning works, but needs to stay on to keep the room comfortable, and it blows cold air right onto the bed, so it can feel either hot or cold. There was never hot water during our stay, which was annoying, and shaving was hard without a sink stopper. We also had cockroaches in the bathroom. No room safe was an issue, and the lobby lock boxes didn’t seem secure enough for cash or passports.

This is possibly the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in, full stop. A mix-up by the booking company got my hotel changed, and after reading the reviews I thought it might be okay. It turned out to be total garbage. OYO hotels seem like cheap places with no interest in even basic quality. I felt so depressed in that room, and I have no faith at all in this rating system.

The location in Patong is perfect, within walking distance of Bangla and other main attractions. The staff were very polite and helpful, and I believe they tried their best. But the place needs a thorough clean from top to bottom and pest treatment. On our first day, I found two spiders behind the TV. The gap between the TV and wall looked as though it hadn’t been cleaned in years, with webs in the bathroom and on the ceiling too. They dealt with the spiders when we told them, but that wasn’t enough. Ants were everywhere, coming through little cracks in the walls, and our things on the table were covered in them the first morning. They only cleaned after we reported it. Cleaning every day won’t solve it, they need to exterminate them with chemicals. I bought bug spray and did it myself. The bathroom water tank leaked too. They tried to fix it, but... smh!

We’d been in Thailand for seven weeks, and this was by far our worst experience. When we arrived, few staff could speak English well. They did try to help with a smile, but the state of the room was beyond that. We’d paid for the BEST room, but found a sewer smell, a leaking toilet, and what looked like mud in the toilet water. After we politely asked them to check, we went out. By evening it was even WORSE, with black sandy-looking drips and muddy water from both the faucet and shower. Staff eventually fixed it, but it was horrendous to deal with, even if we know these things can happen. The other problems kept coming: bugs crawling on the bed, unexplained hair on the sheets, and a lingering toilet stink that meant we had to keep the door shut. The window rack was broken, so a neighbour could see into the room. I didn’t personally care if someone saw me walking around naked, but my girlfriend HATED the lack of privacy. I can’t believe this was meant to be their BEST room. There was also a note saying “Room 300B for 3 hours.” In a two-star hotel, it made us wonder what goes on in the rooms and how many people might use one in a night. We didn’t want to sleep there. We’d already booked tours and were too tired to deal with leaving right away, so we stayed. At the start, they gave us keys and a paper note and said we wouldn’t get our 500B back if we lost either. Losing a key makes sense, but losing the ticket for receiving the key was new to us, and felt like a sneaky way to keep the money. We politely asked to check out early and didn’t want to shame them for everything that had happened. They just said they couldn’t refund us. Don’t recommend this place. If you want to experience this hotel’s hell episode for yourself, that’s your choice. For anyone who’d be disgusted by all this, it’s a clear no.
