Bu-Ngasari Resort

The grounds are lovely but very unkempt, and the state of the rooms was just sad. We arrived around 4 pm to find the room we'd booked had gone to other guests. After waiting about an hour for a room to be cleaned, we found that the TV didn't work and couldn't be fixed. The air conditioner kept making cracking noises all night. The room and bathroom were very dirty, with gecko droppings, and ants were crawling everywhere, including in the bed. We asked to move, and were told we could switch the next day. We did, but the new room had the same ant problem, including in the bed. The two staff members on hand were wonderful but couldn't do much; these felt like management issues. The hotel changed hands within the last eight months, and even its name hadn't been updated yet. It is now OMD Wellness, not Bu Ngasari Resort, which made it very hard to find.

The rooms had a nice view, but for 1400 baht in July, it wasn't worth the money. The location was easier to reach in a small car during rainy season, which is why we wound up there, though there are definitely better places nearby. It's an old hotel that needs a lot of maintenance. The bathroom hadn't been cleaned, and there was still hair in the shower drain.

The yellow cabins have the best decks, with a fantastic view, and there's plenty of room to sit. You'll need a car, since nearby restaurants and attractions are too far to walk to. The restaurant was closed during our visit except for breakfast. I skipped it, but my wife tried it and thought it was basic yet adequate. The place is showing its age: the cabin interiors could use fresh paint, and the shower pressure wasn't great. Those were minor issues, though. The staff were courteous and helpful, and I found the place comfortable despite its drawbacks. I'd recommend it and would come back.

A romantic place with a nice view and pleasant weather. The room was clean, and the restroom was inside but separate from the room, with an open-air layout. Showering under the blue sky was nice, though not so much at night. It's reasonably placed for reaching the main tourist attraction and a famous Thai restaurant. Having your own car is the better option.
