Kantary Bay Hotel Phuket

We first chose this hotel for our family's safety and comfort after the tsunami, and we've come back at least fifteen times since. It feels like returning to relatives after a long trip. The manager, front desk staff, head cook, and everyone else treat guests with real care. I'm grateful they always welcome my family like we're their own. The hotel doesn't have a private beach of its own, but guests can use the private beach at Cape Pawa, with a free shuttle to get there. There's a lovely view right outside, and in the evenings local Muslim community shops set up in front of the hotel with all kinds of street food. It's a safe, quiet, welcoming place where you can really rest.

The rooftop pool has lovely views, and the location is handy too, with a 7/11, lots of restaurants, and massage parlours nearby. Breakfast had a good spread, and the coffee was bottomless. We also liked having daily refills of drinking water and both a microwave and fridge in the room, which came in useful. The beds were especially comfortable, and the room was clean and neat. The hotel has a charming 90s feel, with a bit of nostalgia and plenty of warmth. Guests can also visit sister hotel Cape Panwa, which feels incredibly luxurious. Just take the complimentary shuttle there. We tried walking from Kantary Bay and found the hill very steep. We had a lovely, comfortable stay with some thoughtful extras. It was a pleasant surprise.

We've stayed here twice now and already know we'll be back. The staff and location are fantastic, and breakfast is good. Rooms are decent, and there's a great choice of local restaurants close by. It's very good value, with prices much more affordable than the nearby “luxury hotels”. It works well for couples and families with children. Love it.
