I felt welcome throughout my stay, thanks to the super friendly staff. Everything was clean and comfortable, and the ocean view made the place feel so peaceful and relaxing. A lovely spot to unwind with a refreshing drink and enjoy the view.

There’s a lovely view here, with the beach nearby and hills or mountains behind the hotel. The service was good, too. When I ate there, an employee named Chef Jumbo explained the food in detail.

The staff were friendly and very helpful. The hotel has incredible views, and the beach, with lots of restaurants and cafes, is within walking distance.

The open-air, roofed lobby was a nice feature. That style of lobby is common in tropical buildings, including in Timor-Leste and Bali, and lets in breezes and natural ventilation. Even so, the guest experience at Palm Springs Hotel (PHS) in Fatuhada Village of Dom Aleixo was far better for me in every aspect. PSH is also closer to Dive Timor, shops, Embassy Row, and restaurants such as Castaway, Osteria and Pro-Ema. The “Splash Pool” looks inviting and is nicely designed, but it’s only open from 9 am to 6 pm and costs an extra $15 per person. Families should keep that in mind. The fee apparently includes a “refreshing soft drink,” though I’d prefer pool access to be included in the room price over a cheap sugary drink. The general vibe wasn’t for me. There’s only one kind of electrical outlet, for Type C Europlugs, and no USB ports, multi-standard sockets or loaner adapters. Without a compatible charger or adapter, you can’t charge your devices. That could be a problem for many visitors from Australia (Type I), the US and Japan (Type A/B). Universal outlets and USB ports are basic features in international hotels, so I was surprised this hadn’t been addressed.
