The restaurant and bar staff were delightful and friendly, which helped the service rating. WiFi worked now and then, and when it did, we could reach the outside world. In Turkmenistan it was the only place we could, so that may matter when choosing a hotel. The building looks fancy enough to pass for a 5 star hotel, and the buffet breakfast was nice. The rooftop restaurant is worth going to for the views. But the rooms, despite being lovely, were let down by air con problems. I'm not used to heat at night, and I slept very badly. Everyone in our group had trouble with the AC. Some were moved to rooms where it worked, while staff tried several repairs in other rooms and moved some guests without fixing it. Some rooms were also missing toilet paper or soap. Reception did bring those up when called, but check before you sit down. The front desk staff were either extremely incompetent or ignored our concerns. Problems raised one day or night had apparently never been heard by the morning staff, and advice from the morning was unknown to the evening staff. They were unhelpful and quite demeaning, though I don't know if gender played a part. Our concerns only got attention when other guests were queuing behind us to check in. Despite the hotel's elegance, I wouldn't recommend it.

The roof restaurant is the one I prefer, and it's French. The hotel has three restaurants: Turkish, French and International. It's right in the heart of the city, with clean, large, comfortable rooms. I'd highly recommend staying here in Ashgabat for a vacation or business trip.

The hotel itself was very nice, but the staff were unprofessional and quite rude. When we checked in, nobody explained the payment system, though they later claimed they had. Miss Elvira spoke to us about payment as if we were her staff. We wanted to settle our extras in manat before checkout, but were told we couldn't and had to pay in US dollars. The room menu lists prices in manat, with no prices in US dollars, so it was confusing to be asked for dollars. The exchange rate at the hotel is six times different from the rate outside, which made a big difference to the amount.

The prices were extremely reasonable, and service was super fast. We enjoyed our visit to Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, and found the hotel beautiful and amazing.

The rooms are large and clean, and the hotel is very nice. Breakfast, though, was poor. Internet was fast, but as you probably know, almost nothing is accessible without a certain proxy. I wanted to pass along one thing I hadn't found in the reviews before traveling to Aşgabat: you can exchange USD in the local market. Hotels and ATMs give 3.5 manat per dollar, while the local market gives 18 manat. That was a shock to me, and I hope this helps.
