We loved our stay and would happily return. The guest house was clean, comfortable, and very welcoming for families. Manuel was a wonderful host.

The owner was warm and helpful, and even drove us to a nearby restaurant on our first night when we were tired and unfamiliar with the area. He speaks French and a little Arabic, but not much English. Breakfast at the house was fine, and you can ask for more if you need it. He also had good suggestions for places to eat. My favorite was Restaurant Salem in Ajim, less than a 10-minute drive away, with delicious food at a very reasonable price. We stayed in a family room that was very spacious, clean, and well air-conditioned, and the bathroom and shower were perfectly adequate. The pool was a great place to cool off on hot days. It’s a quiet, quaint house far from the tourist crowds, and the beach felt like it was ours alone. There are two house cats, plus the super friendly, playful Vic. The one drawback is how far it is from everything, so you’ll need a car to find lunch and dinner. We had a great time and would definitely recommend it for a relaxing break away from the crowds.

The rooftop views at sunset are breathtaking, and you can catch a good sunrise too if you’re up early. The beach is about an eight-minute walk away, calm and very secluded apart from a few local crab fishermen. We also saw lots of birds, including a flamingo flying past, which was a lucky sight. Manuel’s wife is an amazing cook, so I’d really recommend booking dinner. Manuel and his wife gave us some of the best service I’ve experienced in all my travels. From the start until we got into the taxi to leave, he made sure we had everything we needed and more. The place is in the middle of nowhere, but taxis there and back are so cheap that we didn’t need to rent a car. We paid about 10 dinar (3€) per ride. If you want a quiet, peaceful getaway, this is a must.

Manuel is a really nice host and knows where to go, what to see, and where to eat. He can help you find a car or bike, often for free and well below market price. We wanted to visit Djerba while enjoying postcard-worthy sunsets and a peaceful setting, and this place gave us both. It has all the amenities and luxury of Tunisian-made houses. A little piece of paradise, you won’t be disappointed.
