Dar Dhiafa

Dar Dhiafa has a lovely feel to it, with thoughtfully designed rooms, shared spaces, and pool areas. The colors and natural materials make for a calm, peaceful stay. It’s a great place for a digital nomad. The staff are warm and attentive, especially Amine at reception. He was proactive, reliable, and hospitable, and went above and beyond for guests. His dedication made the stay that much more comfortable, and I want to thank him.

The grounds are beautiful and the place is mostly comfortable, though the bed felt a bit firm. It’s a nice place to stay in Djerba, near the artsy part of town and not far from the famous historic synagogue. There was a blackout during my stay. It wasn’t the hotel’s fault, but it’s something to keep in mind when booking in this remote area, since it could happen again. Service was nice but not especially friendly. When I asked about checkout, I was told noon was the maximum. Hotels don’t have to offer late checkout, but there’s a kinder way to explain it, perhaps saying they’re fully booked and inviting guests to wait in the lobby. During the outage, staff also didn’t make much effort to apologize proactively.

The staff were wonderful, especially Amine, who gave exceptional service. He and Marwa, I hope I’ve spelled that right, charged my phone and power bank, shared tips about local amenities, and were so caring and helpful. As a woman traveling alone, I really appreciated that. Fathi and Aymen were also friendly and helpful. I’d love to return to Djerba and stay here again. The traditional hotel is stunning, in a perfect spot for Djerbahood, with beautiful rooms and pool areas and gorgeous traditional details everywhere. The restaurant was superb, and the discreet daytime service was lovely, just ask for something and it arrives quickly. There was a brief power outage in my room, which wasn’t an inconvenience, but the hotel kindly wouldn’t let me pay for lunch as an apology. I highly recommend it.

We really enjoyed our week here. The pool is a little small, but it’s otherwise a great place, with very helpful staff. The interiors are lovely, especially the carpets, art, and decorative objects.
