Hotel El Fell

The rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable, and the food was varied and tasty, with plenty of choices. The shallow pool seemed great for families and anyone wanting to relax. It was lively too, with animations and water games going on around it. Hotel El Fell in Hammamet has direct beach access. The sea can get a bit wavy, but that adds to the Mediterranean feel. Service was moderate, though some staff were attentive and welcoming. All in all, it offers a pleasant setting, good food, entertainment, and a relaxing stay.

We only got two towels for a booking of three people. I asked the housekeeper, her supervisor, and reception for a third, but nothing changed. When I followed up with the housekeeper, she yelled at me in the hallway and told me to stop asking. It was humiliating and shockingly unprofessional. The beach rules were unclear and we felt pushed around. Staff initially said all the parasols belonged to the hotel and we could sit anywhere. But after we sat down, someone rudely told us to move because that section "belonged" to the neighbouring beach club Le Trèfle. We moved, then the supervisor came over even more aggressively and told us to move again. It became clear why: the hotel gets a share of the money from Le Trèfle's customers, who were treated politely and never asked to move, unlike us hotel guests. We were also considerably overcharged for a drink. With the favouritism, unclear beach arrangements, overcharging, and rude staff from the supervisor to housekeeping, we felt unwelcome and disrespected throughout our stay. I can't recommend El Fell until it treats its own guests with the respect they deserve.

We had a very bad experience. The beach was empty, there was no music, and it wasn't worth it at all. We called reception and were told we could come, then took 30 minutes to get there. But the guards were aggressive and violent and told us to leave. They wouldn't let us in because we're local, even though we wanted to pay for the pool or beach, and they tried to force us to pay them a bribe. They even suggested we should just leave. Be careful!

The beach was the best part for me: lovely, set up for lots of activities, and busy with vendors selling all kinds of things. El Fell is far enough from Hammamt Yasmine and its traffic and noise to feel peaceful, but close enough to go there. There are also plenty of upscale restaurants and cafés nearby. The staff were kind and helpful, and the food was decent. The rooms weren’t clean at first, though after I mentioned it, housekeeping made more effort. After staying at other hotels, I’ve come to appreciate this place as a decent option with what you need. I’d definitely come back and think it deserves a chance.
