Resort Houda Yasmine Marina & SPA Hotel

The whole experience was terrible and not worth the money, even though it all happened during a single-night stay. We waited about 10 minutes for someone to fix a door that wouldn’t open, then the technician arrived with new keys instead. Earlier, we had to call twice and wait around 30 minutes just to get a towel, and we were missing a blanket too. The first room was nowhere near the standard or price we paid, and we had to argue to get something acceptable. The replacement was only normal at best and inconveniently far away. The food disappointed and fell well below expectations. Service and management were extremely poor, and it was terrible value. Definitely not recommended.

People were allowed to sit and smoke right in front of the exits, so when you sat inside, you ended up inhaling most of the smoke. I also wasn’t sure whether the AC worked: it blew air, but the room never really got cold. Even so, it was a wonderful stay, with good food, common areas cleaned constantly, and rooms done daily. Eva was amazing with the kids, pipito was funny, Ronaldo did his best, and all the workers were polite and helpful. Thanks for a wonderful time. I had very little to complain about, and yes, I’d stay here again.

The animation team was the one real highlight. They worked hard to bring fun and energy to the hotel and were friendly and engaging despite the other problems. There’s potential here, but better management, maintenance, and service are needed. I wouldn’t return to Houda Yasmine Hotel or recommend it to someone wanting a true four-star experience. Although it’s advertised as a four-star resort, my stay felt like two or three stars at best. After talking to a few locals, I heard the hotel had gained a poor reputation in recent years. It was easy to see why, as it felt like management had stopped caring about maintaining or improving the place. Our room looked nothing like the modern, well-kept photos online. It was dated and run down, with stained curtains and bedding. The towels smelled freshly washed but had several questionable marks, and the broken toilet seat made the bathroom uncomfortable. We requested hand towels and waited more than 24 hours for them. Service was disappointing. Staff often seemed uninterested or inattentive. At meals we struggled to get waiters’ attention for drinks, and sometimes had to find our own cutlery or clean our table before we could eat. Most staff were friendly when approached, but it didn’t feel as if guests were a priority. The food was repetitive, with little variety in fruit or meat. There were no basics like bananas, watermelon, or pineapple, and some dishes were labelled incorrectly. For example, something marked beef turned out to be liver. The bar was much too small for the size of the hotel and felt overcrowded. Outdoor areas, including the tennis courts and the spaces around them, looked neglected and poorly maintained.

Everyone was friendly and helpful. We spent a week there, enjoyed the entertainment, and met some fantastic people. The food was okay, though it was a bit repetitive from day to day.
