Run away!

The cooks did their best with what they had, and the service was good, even though the hotel seemed to be in the middle of bankruptcy. Supplies ran short: alcohol was gone by 8 PM, there was no ice for the first two days, and later the supplier apparently stopped delivering because bills hadn’t been paid. Toilet paper was unavailable, and towels were changed only once a week, after we pushed for it. Depending on where a room was, it might go the whole week without being cleaned or made up. The beach and pool bars were closed, the restaurant opened late to limit food and drink use, and staff were on strike. There weren’t many employees around, and entertainment was almost absent because the entertainers were helping serve meals. Even the manager was picking up disposable cups that the wind had blown away. Things seemed to get worse each day. There’s a lot more I could say, but the staff couldn’t make something out of nothing.

I’d booked eight days, but left after the third because the sanitary conditions were so bad. The buffet was disgusting, with food reheated over several days and no typical local dishes, just awful pasta or nuggets. We were moved four times: three rooms had no air conditioning, and one had a leak. The rooms were shabby and dirty, and the staff paid no attention to our complaints. This hotel was scandalous. Stay away.
