Le Grand Hôtel

The beach in front is nice, but the staff experience was poor. Someone at the hotel shouted at me for walking along the open path in front of the rooms, even though there was no sign saying it was private. He was impolite, and the person watching the pool wasn’t very polite either. The beachfront restaurant charges a lot: even the cheapest tomato and cheese pizza is 18 TND, and a tuna sandwich is 15 TND. Using the pool for the day costs 20 TND, so be prepared for that.

I stopped by for coffee and a swim, without staying at the hotel. By the end of September, this was the only beach I saw on Kerkennah that wasn’t strewn with plastic garbage. Thanks to the hotel for keeping its waterfront clean. It’s sad to see the rest of the islands’ waterfront so full of litter.

The hotel was calm, with good employees and a very good buffet. The pool is large and very clean compared with other hotels in Kerkenah. The view is amazing, though the rooms do need renovating.

We only ate at the beach restaurant, and the service was honestly awful. Everything was expensive for no reason, and the waiters need training from the ground up. Really horrible.
