Resort Riadh Palms Resort & Spa

We brought three young children, and while many staff were kind and respectful toward them, some were too full on. They tried to touch the children’s hair and kiss them even when the kids seemed uncomfortable. The entertainment team did make the mini discos fun and put in effort to run them when we were there, but at times they were a bit much. Once, they took our children backstage without telling us. The outdoor pool was closed during our stay, though this hadn’t been mentioned, and there were no barriers around it to keep children safe despite the deep water and large drop. Activities were practically nonexistent. We had to find the equipment ourselves to play games, then staff would come over once we’d started and act as if they’d set it up and were supporting us. The staff were generally nice, but some expected regular tips and could get an attitude if they didn’t receive one when they thought they should. The surrounding area is very run down and didn’t feel safe for tourists unfamiliar with how to handle it. We went into Sousse once without the kids and were shouted at by locals several times, even though we tried to avoid confrontations.

The views were breathtaking, the apartment was spacious and spotless, and it was easy to relax there and feel at home. We also really enjoyed the food, with its good variety, and the animation crew’s daily activities were fun and well organized. Kamal, Kimo, Chris, Ziad, Omar and the rest of the staff made the trip feel extra special. Thanks to all of you for going above and beyond. We loved our stay and would gladly come back. It’s great value for money, so don’t be put off by the occasional negative review. Highly recommended.

The Wi-Fi was very poor everywhere, and I had no connection at all in room 519. The cleanliness was disappointing too: stained mirrors, old torn towels, a broken bin, hair all along the corridors, and very uncomfortable pillows. The reason I still gave five stars was the staff. Aladdin and Ahmed K in the restaurant, Makaram at reception, and Chris from entertainment were fantastic and very helpful.

We were there from August 24th to August 31st, 2025. The beach was lovely, though it could use a morning clean, since small objects scattered in the sand were unpleasant to step on. Inside the hotel, I saw staff cleaning the floors early in the morning and again in the evening, including around the pool. The hotel was clean and well kept despite the large number of guests. Our room was tidy, and the housekeeper cleaned it and changed the towels every day. She was always kind and polite. The food was great, with plenty of choice. The drinks were a little lower in quality than we’re used to in Europe, particularly the coffee and juices, not the alcohol. The staff worked hard and were pleasant. Respect to those who do their jobs properly and professionally. The one bad experience was at the currency exchange office, where the employee cheated while changing money. We reported it to the guest relations representative. Based on what I saw, the hotel employees are real professionals, though some guests behaved very poorly, leaving piles of rubbish, wasting food and acting arrogantly. The hotel itself is in line with an African four-star standard. A major culture shock for me was seeing some guests from Algeria eat with their hands and touch food meant for everyone. I found it unpleasant and unhygienic, and think the hotel should strictly forbid it because it could put other guests’ health at risk and damage the hotel’s reputation.
