The people were nice, and they dealt with some of the problems. You can use a washing machine for free, though there’s no dryer or detergent, and that’s why I’ve given two stars. Our first night was pretty disastrous. There were lots of cockroaches, ants, and who knows what else, plus stains on the sheets and one bed without a blanket. The place didn’t feel very clean. Everything worked, but that should be a basic expectation. WiFi was fast, but really expensive. Since the drive into town takes about 20 minutes, you end up relying on it. If you’re staying longer, getting a SIM is cheaper. We expected it to be quiet so far from the city, but there are three or four roosters next door that start crowing at 3 in the morning. They clearly don’t care what time it is.

We enjoyed staying here. There was nearly everything we needed, including a fridge, oven, a vehicle for hire, and airport transfers both ways. The only small issue was the washing machine wasn’t working properly. Laundry services in Tonga are quite expensive, so we’d hoped to wash our clothes at the accommodation.

The accommodation itself was fine. I only booked it because it advertised good WiFi, though, and there wasn’t any. I wouldn’t normally be too concerned, but I needed internet for a particular work task on this trip.

We stayed for two weeks and had a really good time. Shops and markets are close by, which was handy. I’d go back, though the roads need fixing. There’s no WiFi, but that’s fine if you use mobile data.
