Hotel Prinkipos

The room itself was OK, though my duvet had a dirty spot about 15cm across. I’d booked with WiFi and breakfast, but in the morning the waiter said no. They have their own restaurant downstairs. The waiter couldn’t understand English very well, and I never met the owner. I’d rate it 3.5/5.

The website photos were far from an accurate picture, even though the price was reasonable. The bedroom was grubby, with stained bedding, and the bathroom was filthy and covered in mold. I didn’t want to walk barefoot on either floor or step into the shower, and I’d only have gone to bed with my clothes on. I’d paid in full, but after seeing the room I left and stayed at another hotel for the four nights I was on the island.

The price felt fair, and the location was good. The owners were extremely kind and helpful, and the rooms were quiet and clean. I’ve stayed at a lot of hotels on Prince Islands, and Prinkipos Hotel was the cleanest.

We got room number 10 after room number 9 smelled of mold and had visible mold. The curtains didn’t really keep people sitting outside from seeing the bed. I used the closet door for privacy, but it fell off when we opened it. I saw five small beetles in the bed, and there were lots of spiderwebs on the ceiling. On the good side, the bed was good, breakfast was good, and the shower had hot water.
