Ria Suites Boutique Hotel

I had to check out the same day because none of the issues were resolved. Management later said I left without a reason, which isn't true. I checked in and was shown two different rooms, but each one was worse than the last. Both had a strong unpleasant smell, dirty sheets and pillows, and a leaking toilet that let water out when flushed. I have screenshots from a video since I can't upload the video itself. These are cleanliness and maintenance problems the hotel controls, and the rooms didn't match the property's description. I raised everything with the front desk and had to repeat myself several times, possibly because of a language barrier. They laughed off my concerns instead of taking them seriously, and I didn't feel listened to or supported. It was a really disappointing stay. I've attached photos and videos to help other travelers make an informed decision. Honestly upset I had to give one star. Do not stay.

I'd never recommend this hotel. The location was inconvenient, with a 15-minute uphill walk to the tram and a 15-minute, mostly downhill walk to the metro or train station. I know Istanbul is hilly and the hotel can't help where it's situated, but it was still a pain. The rooms were small, with old furniture and little storage. The bathroom was dirty, with loose fittings, and the shower gel and soap were limited and poor quality. Breakfast was cheap, the choices were limited, and it was the same every day. Even the coffee was awful. There were only about 8 tables in the small breakfast room, and with 12 people there I couldn't move around freely. Breakfast was served for just 2 hours. Reception staff seemed clueless and were quite abrupt. Everyone there looked like random people off the street rather than employees. Booking.com reckons this is 4 stars. No way. I wouldn't give it any stars. I've stayed in two star hotels that were much better.

Good value for the price, and most tourist spots are within walking distance. The rooms are okay and the beds are comfy. Breakfast needs a lot of improvement.

The room had the basics and was clean, but the thin walls meant I could hear conversations and TVs from next door, making it hard to relax or sleep well. Outside, the busy street puts shops, restaurants, and public transport right there, which is handy if you want to be near everything. It also means the noise can be a bit much, especially at night. Fine for a short stay if noise doesn't bother you and you want to be in the middle of things, but for peace and quiet, I'd look elsewhere.
