The real gem of Vadi hotel is breakfast. Even though the hotel has only two stars, the meal deserves five: fresh local food, well prepared and served in the garden under the trees. Thanks so much for everything! The building is a bit old and could use maintenance, but the staff are great and doing their best. Room prices are low, so it's good value.

I wouldn't stay here again because the hotel is in poor shape, poorly maintained, and has serious hygiene problems. Despite the staff's efforts, I can't recommend it, and it's hard to understand how the owners let the place remain so neglected. If you're planning to stay in Akçakoca, I'd look at other options. The employees deserve praise, though. Ms. Esra made special things herself for us at breakfast, and her mother had baked wonderful pastries. Those thoughtful gestures gave us a little smile in the morning. The staff were sincere, smiling, and dedicated, and there's nothing bad to say about them. Still, a hotel can't run on its employees' efforts alone. We came to Akçakoca for a night while in Düzce. Vadi Hotel caught our eye as we entered the city, so we called ahead, heard they had space, and came over. The first impression was okay: there was a small, charming garden and an authentic-looking entrance. The receptionist was professional, polite, and friendly, and showed us two rooms. We chose one and settled in, then found the air conditioning didn't work. Staff arranged another room for us, but that brought more problems. There was no mini-bar, which surprised me since even simple motels have them these days. The furniture was so old it seemed like it might fall apart if touched. The bathroom taps and shower heads looked as old as I am, at 46, and were neglected. There was dirt, dampness, and staining on the walls. The bed edges were incredibly dirty, with no sign of cleanliness. It looked as if they couldn't be properly cleaned, however much someone tried.

Ms. Fatma was lovely and kind at breakfast, and Ms. Esra gave us such a warm, attentive, sincere welcome. I found the hotel by chance and was unsure at first, so I especially want to thank her. The place isn't top-notch, but would I return? Absolutely. With a team like this, the owners should put some money into renovations.
