Blue Star Hotel - All Inclusive

The pools were clean and lovely, a little cold at first but fine once you got in, and there was a lifeguard at each one. The rooms were great quality and the hotel itself looked spotless. The cleaners worked constantly, though guests made plenty of mess during the day. There were stray cats around, and I saw them spraying more than once, but that’s part of the Turkey experience. Most staff were lovely, especially Tuna and reception, though a few were moody and tips seemed expected for everything. Some staff made you feel unwelcome if you didn’t tip. Food was good quality and okay for the first couple of days, then it became the same old stuff and we started missing meals because we were on a budget. There was enough choice, but I’d walk around before choosing so you can make a proper dinner instead of a plate of random things you like. Entertainment was very, very poor. There was about an hour for kids and half an hour of something else in the evening, with nothing in the day, not even a card game. The animation team was active, but the entertainment wasn’t enough for us. The beach was lovely despite the pebbles. It has no disabled access. For wheelchair users, the ramps are very steep unless someone helps, and there’s a big hill up to the hotel. The location disappointed me because I like walking out and having things nearby. There’s really nothing around, and the hotel is on a main road. If you’re happy to stay in the complex, it could be a good fit. In the evenings we saw frequent fights. Bored guests brought Bluetooth speakers, played music loudly, got drunk and fell out. Staff couldn’t control it. I saw staff being challenged to fight, or so it seemed. Police were never called and I didn’t see anyone kicked out. There were also arguments in rooms and women being beaten by their partners, with nothing done. By the end we didn’t feel safe in the hotel at night and stayed in our rooms. I actually felt safer walking alone in the streets. This was a once-in-a-lifetime holiday for us, something we normally couldn’t afford. I wouldn’t return or recommend the hotel. It was clean, and parts were fantastic, but other parts were awful. I’d give the overall experience 3 stars.

The room had a comfortable bed, was clean and had everything I needed. I also liked the thoughtful room design. Staff were exceptionally friendly and ready to help, which made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. The hotel was close to the main attractions but still quiet enough for a restful stay. Breakfast was delicious with lots of fresh choices, and the lounge was a relaxing spot after a busy day. I had a fantastic time, would recommend the hotel, and would gladly return on my next visit.

Poolside entertainment got a bit annoying and repetitive. The animators didn’t seem to understand that some guests didn’t want to join in. Service also varied by day. Still, the location and food were good, and by Turkish standards the price was very reasonable. It’s a four-star hotel, and that’s how I’d rate it. I remember the trip fondly and recommend it to people with low expectations.

The hotel was spotless, and the cleaning staff deserve a big compliment for working so hard. The massage was okay, though that area could have been more hygienic. I’d suggest staying for no more than 3-4 days. I’d booked 10 days but left after 7 because I was bored and couldn’t take it anymore. The beds were extremely hard, so sleeping was uncomfortable. Food was good for the first three days, then I started missing variety. During the day, all-inclusive choices were mostly fries, hamburgers and salad. The beach is about 750 meters away, and loungers and umbrellas cost extra. The pool was always packed, with almost no chance of finding a free sunbed. It was a last-minute booking after my villa holiday was cancelled. I was shocked by how crowded the hotel was, mostly with guests from Poland. It was an okay experience, but I wouldn’t stay longer.
