Gorgeous place, fabulous apartments.

We used the mixturgo airport service for $35 and got from Gazipasa in 45 minutes. Boomerang Sitesi, also called Boomerang Residence, in Tosmur is a residential complex with many apartments rented to tourists, rather than a conventional hotel. There's no all-inclusive plan, but it feels homely and has good facilities. If you want to get away from hotel crowds and live more like a local, it's one of Tosmur's better options. The complex is well kept and has a character of its own. The grounds and pool are impressive for a residential complex: there's a large pool with a slide, a children's area and a jacuzzi. There are lots of plants and flowers, a gazebo and a barbecue area where we often grilled meat for dinner. Apartments are very spacious, usually 2+1 or 3+1. The balconies are huge, almost like another living space, and upper floors have lovely views of the sea and Alanya Castle. It's about a 7-10-minute walk, or 500-600 meters, to the beach. Migros and Şok supermarkets, pharmacies and bakeries are close by. There's a farmers' market nearby on Thursdays, where you can get fresh strawberries and cheeses. The complex also has a sauna, small gym and tennis court, plus a generator for power outages, which do happen in Turkey. A few things to keep in mind: the complex is about 15 years old, and soundproofing isn't great, so noisy neighbors can be heard. You have to cross the busy D400 highway to reach the sea. There's an underpass, though it takes a bit of walking to get to it. Since this is a residential building, there isn't a hotel-style reception. You deal with the apartment owner or the caretaker, the kapidzi. The area is quiet, with no nearby clubs or parties, and the center of Alanya takes 15-20 minutes by bus. It's clean, safe, with 24/7 security, and peaceful. A good balance of price and comfort for a long stay or family holiday.
