Green Garden Resort & Spa Hotel

The facilities were great, and the beach was a good distance away. The restaurant, though, was too loud, and the food was hit and miss. There were plenty of side dishes but not many main courses, and much of it wasn’t very tasty. A loud disco played outside every evening until 11 pm. Our one-year-old struggled to fall asleep night after night. We could have asked to move rooms, but we shouldn’t have had to. Staff were helpful and service minded, though some weren’t very polite and could have greeted guests and smiled more.

We’ll definitely be back next year. This is the best city hotel in Alanya for us, with great service, cleanliness, attention to detail, and location. Thanks @greengardenhotels for your hospitality.

The food selection was good and the quality was nice. Turkish food leans toward minced meat dishes and very sugary desserts, but there was something for everyone. The staff were friendly and helpful for the most part, and you could see how much effort went into keeping every area clean. A few things need attention. The beach is sandy and pleasant, but there are waves and large rocks under the water that you can’t see. I hurt myself on one of them, so check where you enter and leave the sea. The floors can be very slippery, including some of the concrete, and signs don’t fix that. In our room the air conditioner dripped water onto the bed. It took two calls to get it repaired. They responded quickly, but didn’t check the first time whether it had worked. The shower drain often overflowed and flooded the bathroom, and the towel holder was loose and came out. These aren’t huge problems, but they’re annoying in a five-star hotel. It was also disappointing that cats were allowed into the restaurant. Once, there were about eight staff at reception and I was the only guest waiting, but everyone acted busy. After I called them out, someone eventually came to help, and I think they spoke English. A few young men at the bar or ice cream stand were dismissive and acted as though serving us was a favor. Thankfully, that attitude was the exception.

IGNORANCE OF THE YEAR. I repeatedly told the staff there were sharp objects in the sand that could cause painful injuries or even inflammation, but nothing was done. I asked again and the hazard was still there. It’s a shame the hotel seems not to care about guests’ health, or may even be knowingly ignoring the problem. The stone slab beneath the court is often exposed too, so be extremely careful.
