My Home Resort - All inclusive

I had some doubts after reading a few reviews, but ended up having a really pleasant stay. The rooms were clean, there was a good range of meals, and the staff were friendly. The animation team was super cool and got everyone involved. Definitely worth the holiday, and I'd come back again soon.

The beach was lovely, with good food, and it's very close to the hotel. Everyone was welcoming and nice. Said-Ali at reception were the best staff.

The room was a decent size and the bed was comfortable, but the minibar was just a fridge that rarely had water in it, and the safe didn't work. Towels were free, though old and not very fresh smelling even when collected each morning. We paid extra for a sea view, which was pretty. The balcony was hard to enjoy because of very loud music from the hotel next door until nearly midnight, plus constant heavy traffic on the busy dual carriageway. Between that and the hotel's own music, opening the door to air the room wasn't pleasant. The quieter relax pool was uncomfortably cold, though the water looked clean. It also had road noise and loud music from the neighbouring hotel, but few people used it because of the temperature. Getting to the beach meant going through a shady, graffiti-covered underpass that didn't feel safe to walk alone. Discharge pipes ran from a water outlet onto the beach and into the sea. The beach itself was dirty, with rubbish and dog poo in the sand and an unpleasant, questionable smell. The beach bar didn't look clean either, although the sunset was very pretty. Service was a problem throughout. Staff often ignored us or were abrupt, and tipping seemed necessary just to get basic acknowledgment. I don't mind tipping for good service, but that wasn't okay. Everyone in our group had some kind of sickness or diarrhoea, which spoiled the holiday, and hygiene seemed questionable. The food was, well, interesting. Breakfast included mash, sweetcorn, broccoli, cauliflower, chicken nuggets and chips. I'm not convinced the salad was fresh each service, since it seemed to be topped up and left out for hours. Flies landed in the bowls, cats roamed around, including in the dining area, and bread and fruit sat out all day. Late arrivals from flights got only soup, and I wondered if it had been sitting there since breakfast, when soup was served too, and just topped up. I definitely wouldn't return.

In the seven days we were there, the restaurant had just one seafood day. The other days there was some white fish, but nothing else from the sea. At dinner the dining room seemed too crowded for the number of guests. People waited by occupied tables for someone to finish so they could take their place, which felt awful. I didn't like the hotel or recommend it. The reception staff were unkind and looked down on me. I contacted them three times and got no help. They also asked for an extra $100 to put us in a particular room. On our last day, checkout was paid through 12:00, but our flight delay meant we had to leave the hotel at 4 am. I asked for a breakfast box and was refused. They told me and my four-year-old to eat at 3 am; when I asked for even one portion for my child to take, they just smiled and shrugged. We went to the mini-club once, so I can't really judge it, but the woman there didn't seem interested in the job. I was also surprised that the children's club workers at a five-star hotel didn't know what babysitting was. For Ukrainians: half of the holidaymakers were Russian, and the hotel seemed afraid or cautious, hiding guests from Ukraine.
