The food was tasty, though breakfast had limited choice and wasn't ready at the promised 8:00 AM. We waited until 8:35 AM and left late, which was a serious problem for me. The menu was narrow too: the Istanbul salad came without oyster sauce and with white onions instead of purple, details that matter to me. We asked for sea bass, but the waiter kept pushing sea bream, so we chose chicken instead. The wine list was very weak. We were in room 302 for a night. The hotel has a pool and beach, but the season hadn't started, so we couldn't use the pool. Cleanliness seemed okay, except our sheets were clearly dusty and hairy. We didn't ask for a change because it was so late, though my wife was especially bothered by them. Loud music from somewhere kept us awake, even though the live music in the evening was nice. The internet never worked in our room. I also saw some customers being given gifts arbitrarily. Service matters most to me, and that sense of discrimination means I wouldn't choose this place again. The staff were the best part. We were welcomed warmly, and a helpful man carried our bags all the way to the top floor. I liked the service, including when he brought me potatoes without my asking. I'd had meatballs and potatoes for dinner, potatoes for lunch, and then potatoes at breakfast. We visited in winter, and seeing snow on the beach was a strange first for me. Would I recommend it? Yes, though I'd think carefully about which room to book. Room 301 looked nice at first and had underfloor heating, but the bathroom door was missing and wouldn't close, water leaked and pooled inside, and it dripped from the ceiling. There were no drawers, no clothes hangers, and no radiator for drying clothes. Of the five lights, only three worked, and there was no internet in the room.

We use this hotel on business trips and have been very happy with it. The breakfast is delicious, and Ms. Ayça's morning coffee is a nice extra.

I've been coming to the pool for years. The place has a lovely renovated look now. It's a small, quality boutique hotel in Akcakoca where you can camp with a caravan and swim in the sea. The owner, Murat Barlas, has done a great job again.
