Hotel Abro Necatibey

The one bright spot was the top-floor restaurant. Breakfast was great, and the woman running the buffet was warm, welcoming, always smiling, and clearly knew how to make guests feel welcome. The room, though, smelled bad, and the bed was hard as a rock. Its door wouldn’t lock with the key and stayed open. I reported it several times, but reception kept saying they’d fix it or move me, and neither ever happened. The service was poor, and the front desk showed no hospitality. The walls were so thin I could hear everything the neighbors said. I should have believed the negative reviews I’d read before booking. The location is nice, but the hotel isn’t worth the money, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

Breakfast was good. The rooms are only acceptable if you’re traveling for business and have a tight budget.

The room was tiny, but the price matched what you got. Still, it had no window or ventilation, so sometimes we had to leave the door open just to get some fresh air. The walls were so thin you could hear every step, sneeze, and voice from other guests. The TV didn’t work, and the freezer door was broken, although the freezer itself still worked.

The location is excellent and the price is reasonable, though breakfast was pretty ordinary. I stayed for a day, and the place was simple but not nearly as bad as some of the comments made it sound. The reception staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. One of them even lent me her phone charger, which was very kind. I’d recommend it for solo travelers.
