Cankaya Konagi

We only stayed one night, but were very happy with it. The people were so warm and welcoming that it felt more like visiting relatives than checking into a hotel. The rooms were clean, and breakfast was a buffet. I don't agree with the earlier reviews; they didn't reflect what I experienced. The hotel had opened only three months earlier, so some things still needed work, though I don't think a TV in the room is essential. It's a lovely place, and I hope we can come back to Çankaya Konağı next year. Thanks so much, see you again soon!

After showering, the bathroom was left in a mess, and there was no TV or air conditioning. Breakfast was terrible: they put out a plate for each person staying there, and whether that was enough was apparently up to you. The service cost 110 TL. They'd described the hotel as new and said the bill would be ready in the morning, but neither the bill nor the receipt mentioned that it was new. When I was told it would be on the receipt, I said I wanted to see the receipt and asked why that mattered to them.

Everything was new, and the rooms were clean. Breakfast was buffet style, with tea available without limit. The hotel owner's son is the charismatic actor Gökberk Yıldırım, from the series "Beni Affet" (Forgive Me). Even with his busy schedule, Mr. Gökberk was kind enough to meet our girls. We took photos to remember that nice conversation. Thanks a lot for everything, and we hope to see you next year.

I had a short chat with the people who have taken over running the hotel. They struck me as reputable and honest, and I'm confident they'll manage it in a more organized and better way than before.
