Hotel Divan Ankara

I felt looked after throughout my stay. The reception team handled all my questions and requests competently, and everyone was friendly and welcoming. I had a very pleasant time here and would happily recommend the place.

AYSE at breakfast was a real help, and things seemed to speed up as soon as she arrived. She was polite, attentive, and clearly experienced. The breakfast itself had plenty of choice, too. I felt safe staying by myself, and my room and bathroom were clean and spacious. The location is residential, but getting around by car or taxi was easy. Housekeeping and technical staff were wonderful and happy to help with anything. Divan hotels have always been great for me, and this one was fantastic. I'm heading to Divan Taksim/Istanbul as I write this, which says a lot about how much I like the chain. Thank you for making us feel welcome.

The breakfast was very good, but that was about the only bright spot. The rooms are tired and stained, and the service at reception was awful. The first night, a broken button meant I couldn't switch off the reading light, and there was no maintenance staff around at that hour. I still had my mask then, luckily, but it wasn't a stay worth a star. After room service, my mask, ear plugs, and medicines had gone missing. I reported it to reception. They said they'd look into it and later said they'd try to replace them, which should have been easy since they were ordinary store-bought items. Nothing happened, even after I asked twice. Both of the men I followed up with looked away after that. I've had better treatment in a 1* hotel. The women's spa area was a letdown too. The sauna worked, but the steam bath was out of service, and using the jacuzzi cost tens of dollars extra. I remember the spa from years ago, when the place was still Swiss, and it was really nice then. Maybe that's just the men's area now. Some leaders will be proud of you. I'll choose somewhere else in Ankara from now on. Bye bye!
