Patalya Thermal Resort Hotel

I came for the daily bath and hamam services. The staff were kind and helpful, though the resort could use maintenance on the shower doors, changing room lockers, and other shared areas. The steam room was so hot I couldn’t breathe after a minute. I think it should be a little cooler.

The food was the best part for me. This is one of the oldest hotels in Kizilcahamam, and the private baths have their charm, but the general pools are very poorly designed. It takes several minutes to walk from the cold pool to the hot tubs.

The dinner was very poor, and the food overall was cheap quality and bad. The pool smelled strongly of chemicals, the fin sauna wasn’t working, and the hamam was very cold. The women’s pool with hot water was very dirty, and the shower smelled like a toilet. We wanted to play billiards after dinner, but it costs money and payment was only possible at the shop, which was closed at that time. Come on, it was 8 pm. They could leave it at reception, since there’s nothing to do in the evening.

It’s a decent enough place, and swimming outdoors while it’s snowing is really nice. The pools didn’t feel like hot springs to me, since there was almost no sulfur smell, but the water was definitely warm and pleasant.
