The Green Park Ankara Hotel

I checked in just two hours ago and already need to get this frustration out. The room was filthy. Housekeeping hadn't cleaned the bathroom after the previous guest, who had apparently shaved and left hair and marks on the toilet seat, even though it was labeled disinfected. The sheets hadn't been changed either. I complained and showed photos, then went out for dinner hoping they'd sort it out. Nothing had changed when I returned. The whole place feels old, neglected, and disgusting. I can't wait for morning so I can leave. I don't understand the five stars or the 4 out of 5 on Google reviews.

The bedroom was clean, but almost everything else let us down. In May there was no air conditioning, and our room was 28 degrees. We were told to open a window or the door. The staff didn't speak English. The breakfast buffet was all dry food, including dry cheese and bread and industrial products, and the only fruit was apples and oranges, not even cut up. There's just one shampoo and body wash combined, which seemed surprising for a five-star place. At night my boyfriend was sick, so I asked for a bottle of water and they charged 100TL for it. They seem very cheap about everything else. This was nothing like a five-star hotel.

We had a comfortable stay, with helpful, welcoming service throughout. Everyone we dealt with, from housekeeping to the front desk, was polite and friendly, and the room we were given was quite spacious. We booked full board and ate all three meals at the hotel. The chefs and service staff were attentive, kind, and professional, which made meals pleasant. I was surprised that gym access cost extra, but I used it in the end and the staff there were helpful and attentive too.

Room 1802 was comfortable, and we enjoyed the nice view. We had a very pleasant stay at Greenpark Hotel and felt well looked after. The staff were kind and accommodating, and when a small problem came up, they fixed it promptly and professionally. They also kept our bags for us when we needed to check out but couldn't take them right away. Everything went smoothly.
