I travel often for work, and this was easily the dirtiest, most neglected hotel I’ve stayed in. Dust was piled up so badly it was hard to breathe. The linens were dirty, dust came off the bed when we touched it, and the sinks were coated in black grime that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for months. The toilet was tiny and yellowish, with an electric water heater right above it, and it was outside the room. We had to spend the first night of our three-day stay there, then move to another hotel. There wasn’t even an employee or receptionist available to hear our complaints. The owner said he’d refund the unused days, but put it off for two months and eventually returned only half of what he’d promised. We had a miserable time and don’t want anyone else to go through the same thing.

The house has a small terrace that makes the room especially pleasant, and the bathroom, kitchen, and courtyard have been kept in their old style. It really feels like stepping back in time. Mr. Mahmut greeted us with real kindness and politeness. This isn’t a small room attached to a reception desk in a standard hotel setup. You get a large house that captures the spirit of Antakya, with history seeming to fill every corner. Definitely a lovely place to experience.

Dust and dirt are everywhere, and the sheets and towels hadn’t been changed. The toilet and shower space are shockingly cramped and filthy. This is just a detached house rented by the day, with no staff or reception. Calling it a suite doesn’t change that, especially since there isn’t another option anyway.

The owner, Mr. Mahmut, was warm and attentive. The place itself has a distinctive, almost mystical feel, and every square meter seems to have been carefully put together.
