I only stayed for a few daytime hours before my flight in June. The bedding and towel were clean, the room was clean, and I didn’t see any bed bugs. I was on the top floor and got plenty of fresh air. I had no problems and would stay again, though I hope I don’t encounter bugs next time, since so many people complain about them. The toilets and showers really do need a thorough daily clean. I hope they hire a good cleaner. It was hot, and there was no fan in my room. I hope fans are available in the hotter months.

After a long day of train and bus travel, I just needed a bed for the night. Instead, I spent half the night sitting up and picking off bedbugs, and didn’t sleep at all. The bedding was full of hair, too. At 1:00 in the morning I asked reception for toilet paper, but was told to wash myself with water. I’m glad I trusted my instincts and booked only one night. This hotel is irresponsible about health.

The window was broken, so someone could easily climb into the bedroom. The bed bugs were everywhere, and staff know about them, apparently getting bitten themselves. It looks like the mattress has never been changed and is infested. Shocking. I wouldn’t advise anyone to stay.

Basic and very cheap, with a prime location. I’d recommend it if you’re travelling on a tight budget.

I stayed six nights at the end of August and got a private room for about €10 a night, the same price as a shared hostel dorm. Great value for budget travellers, and the location is excellent: buses and trams are easy to reach, the old town is walkable, and the bazaar is right nearby. The room is simple, with a comfortable bed, TV, and fan. Shared bathrooms are on each floor, with squat toilets and separate showers for women and men. There’s no shower head, so the water comes out hard and fast, and you need to bring your own toilet paper. There’s no AC, so it gets really hot. Good excuse to spend the day out at the beach. Reception is staffed all the time. Most people there speak limited English, but Google Translate made it easy to communicate, and everyone was pleasant and friendly. There are cameras everywhere, and I felt very safe.
