Cicerone Apart

We stayed one night, on a Friday, in ground-floor room no. 1 with windows onto the street. The apartment was comfortable for a couple, and maybe for three with the sofa bed. It wasn't exactly like the photos, though similar enough. It was generally quite clean, and the sheets and towels were very clean. The bathroom could have been brighter and cleaner. The floor was a little sticky, and the shower drain was clogged, though we managed to clear it a bit ourselves. The host replied quickly and smoothly and spoke English well. The place is pretty and well located in the old town, with lots within walking distance. The tram stop for the airport is a five-minute walk away, as is the coast viewpoint. We paid a reasonable price for such a central spot in the off-season, April 2025. If noise bothers you, evenings might be a bit loud from party people and cat fights, though it didn't bother us much. It was quite a nice stay, and I'd recommend it and return.

We checked out early because the apartment was so bad. It was dirty, the furniture was stained, the bed very uncomfortable, and one lamp didn't even have a bulb. The shower only gave scalding water. I told the manager, who said housekeeping would look into it, but nothing happened. With a toddler there, it felt even less safe, since we couldn't give him a proper shower. There's only one AC, in the bedroom, so the rest of the apartment is unbearable during the day. The place needs updating, even the doorknobs were falling apart. At night all you can hear from the surrounding pubs is drunk people, and the windows are very thin. I definitely don't recommend this apartment. Save your money and book somewhere else.

The location was great, and the air conditioning worked well, but those positives couldn't make up for the problems. Our bedsheets were dirty when we arrived. We asked to have them changed, which should have been taken care of from the start. The couch was pretty nasty too, and staff refused our repeated requests for towels. Wi-Fi was horrible and made it hard to stay connected. The poor cleanliness and service really spoiled what might have been an enjoyable stay. I hope management takes these issues seriously and improves things.

We had a lovely big terrace and a really spacious apartment. Everything felt new and high quality, and the room smelled super clean when we walked in. The location was great too. Our only downside was being on the ground floor, where the building in front blocked the view. Thanks for the hospitality.
