Laren Sea Sıde Hotel & Spa

Breakfast was excellent and the food was really tasty. I stayed for two nights for a dental holiday. They first put me in a room without a balcony, but changed it when I asked. The staff are great and there’s a nice little pool. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again if I need to come back for a few days.

The rooms are comfy, and there’s a nice pool, though it was a bit cool for swimming last week at 26° because the trees keep it shady outside the height of summer. I’ve stayed at both Laren hotels over the past month while having dental work. They’re small compared with other holiday resorts and have a boutique feel. That could suit people having dental implants or other surgery in Antalaya, especially if they don’t feel up to big crowds. It’s also good for solo travellers: plenty of Brits are there for the same reason, so there’s someone to talk to and share experiences with. The staff were friendly. A tip: use a translate app to ask for what you need, as most don’t speak much English. I’m going back at the end of January to finish my dental implant treatment and have a facial procedure.

The breakfast is very scant, which matters if you’re having dental work. Scrambled eggs are available, but there wasn’t anything else wholesome that would fill me up and be easy to digest. I’ve asked our clinic to make a formal complaint to the hotel because this really let down the excellent service we got there. There are a couple of useful things for dental patients, including a freezer with ice packs and staff who have an emergency contact number for the clinics. But the drawbacks outweighed those benefits. When we were there two days ago, the internal doors were all being replaced, and we were asked to move rooms halfway through the week. Old and new doors, frames, tools and rubbish were scattered everywhere, and the outside looked disgraceful. The sea view rooms are small. Other rooms are okay, but the nearby mosque’s call to prayer is loud at 6am.

Tuğçe and Melih made me feel at home. They’re the best hotel staff I’ve ever come across, and deserve employee of the year and pay rises 🙌🏻🏆
