Lucky Monkey Hotel

At Lucky Monkey in Antalya, Muhammed and Engin looked after us so well. Both servers were professional and kind, and always around when we needed something. The food was fresh and full of flavour, and the restaurant had a lovely romantic atmosphere. We had a wonderful time, everything felt right from beginning to end. It deserves more than five stars! 👌👌👌

Such a beautiful, unusual hotel, and the restaurant was lovely too, with views and mocktails. The shisha guy was so friendly and great. We went most nights, and since we stayed late, they had heaters so we could keep warm in November. Definitely recommend it, 10/10, and very cheap too.

The view was a real highlight, along with the strategic location, direct beach access and staff who were exceptionally helpful. Whenever we asked for something, they supported us kindly, and that made the stay great overall. The room itself was disappointing for the high price and looked better in the pictures. We arrived to find no bed comforters, only a thin, low quality blanket, and there wasn’t any space set aside for travel bags. The bathroom also had no toothpaste or toothbrush.

I thought I’d booked Lucky Money Hotel, but when we arrived they said the reservation was actually for Lucky Monkey Midi. I didn’t realize there was another place with that name about 3km out from Lucky Monkey and the city centre, in a less desirable area. I’d been looking at sites listing Lucky Monkey and feel misled by the mix-up. Our flight was almost 3h late, and the rental car’s “meet and greet” turned into a “wait and find me” situation. We reached Lucky Money Hotel with the kids around midnight, only to be told to get back in the car and drive to Lucky Monkey Midi. It looked nothing like Lucky Monkey. We were exhausted and frightened by Antalya traffic, so hauling all our luggage back to the car felt like a lot. At Lucky Monkey Midi, before anyone greeted us, we were told to pay the bill immediately, then shown to our room. It was supposedly non-smoking, but there was an ashtray right beside the “no smoking” sign, and the room smelled of smoke anyway. Staff were polite. The next day, the woman at reception was quite funny too. We only stayed 2 nights and didn’t interact much, so that’s the only lucky thing I can say about the hotel. There was a mosque with a minaret very close by, and a school as well. We soon learned both made heavy use of loudspeakers. This felt more like a motel than a hotel. After staying at 4 other hotels in the Antalya region, I think I was generous with 2 stars. Hotels in this area seem to be judged differently from the international hotels we’re used to in Europe. If you want a decent mid-comfort hotel in Antalya, I’d look only at 5 stars and research carefully. Compare photos, location and reviews. Only afterward did I notice that Lucky Monkey Midi’s Google Map listing mixes in computer generated pictures with real ones, including food I couldn’t find anywhere on the premises. Maybe those pictures were from another era, I’m not sure, but their vibe is completely different from the real place.
