Porto Bello Hotel

There were some good parts, and some things were missing. The beds were comfortable, the food was very nice, and there was an indoor pool with a spa. But daytime noise from work on the outdoor pool made it seem like they were getting it ready for summer. Something was going on with the air conditioning in the top floor rooms. It seemed to be heating constantly, so even in winter we had to open the windows all the way, letting in noise.

I visited in January and enjoyed every part of the stay. The food had great variety and quality, with special themed days like seafood day, and I especially liked the bar. The pool was clean, and my four-year-old son and I were given bathrobes. The Turkish sauna fascinated me. There was a comfortable lobby, plus an outdoor playground and an indoor playroom for children. The animators organized activities every day for adults and kids. Special thanks to Daria, who's wonderful at arranging all kinds of activities, very empathetic, and just a great person.

My wife and I booked a one-night stay in a double sea view room and checked in early, around 2pm. Ms.Sheriffe at the front desk was especially kind and upgraded us to a Junior Suite for free. It was spacious and had a balcony facing the sea with awesome views. We had an all-inclusive deal, and both breakfast and dinner were top notch. We also enjoyed the free snacks, including assorted bakery items and delicious ice creams. Mr. Mulyadi at Sailors Patisserie was great, professional and friendly. I enjoyed chatting with him. He was just starting at the hotel, and I wish him all the best for the future. We had a fantastic time and wished we'd booked longer. We'll definitely return next time we're in Antalya.

The tunnel leading to the beach was a nice touch, and we spent most of our time there. Overall it was a decent hotel, but not quite among the best. Our room was nice, though the shower tiles looked worn and needed updating. It was extremely hot inside, and the air conditioning didn't work, so we kept the balcony door open. Nights stayed warm, and barking dogs and passing cars made a lot of noise. My son was disappointed that the only water slide was closed for our entire visit. Food often came out cold, so we had to warm it in the microwave. The BBQ grill frequently ran out of meat, the coffee tasted bad, and we bought Nescafé instant coffee to mix with warm milk instead. Drinks from the bar weren't consistent either. There was just one outdoor pool, too cold to use, and a small heated indoor pool that was okay but nothing special. With some improvements, the hotel could be much better. I can give it three stars rather than five for now.
