Terra Rossa Suites

We couldn’t sleep on six of the seven nights because guests were shouting, fighting, screaming, and slamming doors late at night. It seemed to be a popular place for women who came back drunk with men. The rooms also looked nothing like the photos. We found five cockroaches, the toilet smelled of sewage, it wasn’t clean, and there was mold everywhere. The reception guys were kind, which was the one bright spot. We complained to agoda, but they didn’t help at all. I’d avoid both this hotel and agoda.

The neighborhood is quiet, with public transport and the centre within walking distance. Street parking is free, though it tends to fill up before evening. There’s a small terrace or patio, and the host and reception staff were very friendly. The rooms were clean, but need maintenance. We found only two hangers and nowhere to hang towels to dry. We didn’t feel comfortable or safe here at the moment. The price is good, but there’s a cost: guests make a lot of noise late into the night, slamming doors. At 5 a.m. we woke to a couple fighting, crying, and shouting. We also thought our Agoda booking included a kitchenette and washing machine. At check-in, the receptionist said we’d booked an “stn” room. We couldn’t prove what we thought we’d reserved after the booking was made.

The staff are super friendly, but the room looks better in the pictures and the hotel is far from everything. It’s worth it only if you’re looking for a cheaper option. Buses to different places are cheap from there, though getting anywhere takes time.

The staff, all three reception managers, were really kind and customer oriented. They even let us check in at 10 a.m. We could sit on the outdoor veranda and use the kitchen area with tea, coffee, and water. Since we arrived early, we ate the breakfast we’d brought and had coffee there. During our stay the apartment was quiet and comfortable, and the blackout curtains blocked the light well enough for us to sleep in. Getting around was easy. Buses and trams are nearby, and from the airport it cost 27 lira to get almost to the hotel, as of 18.03.2025, followed by a 5-7 minute walk from the stop. A101 is a minute away and SOK is two minutes away for groceries, water, and vegetables. The Old Town and the port with boat tours are a 15-minute walk. From the Old Port, we saw options like a 45-minute trip along the cliffs toward the mountains for 400 lira, or a trip toward the Lower Duden Waterfall. The sea and its lovely promenade are also about a 15-minute walk away. The apartment is nice and has a kitchen with basic cookware, including a frying pan, pots, plates, two cups, a few forks and spoons, a knife, cutting board, spatula, and ladle. They also provided liquid soap and sponges, though we bought new ones ourselves. There’s a kettle, fridge, washing machine, and a gas stove with large and small burners. Cooking on the flame was quick, and there’s an extractor hood with a light. The bathroom has a hairdryer and stylish design. The shower door closes securely, but there’s no shelf for shampoo. We had clean, good quality cotton bath, hand, and foot towels. The bed was fairly comfortable. There’s a wardrobe with a few hangers, a bar-style table, high chairs, air conditioning, TV, and a mirror. There was a slight mold smell from the bathroom, as others have mentioned. It wasn’t a big issue for us; we ran the extractor fan and kept the door closed. The pots and pans are very worn and old. The pot with one swiveling handle in particular seems unsafe, since hot contents could spill. The wall by the bed is a bit scuffed, and the furniture has minor flaws, like missing handles and a TV shelf that tilts noticeably away from the wall. Part of the washing machine’s exterior is corroded, but it still works, so that’s just cosmetic.
