The Mori Club Hotel

We booked because the hotel looked attractive, renovated, and new. We arrived after midnight and found a room that hadn’t been cleaned or prepared for us. Dirty towels were hanging on the bathroom door, the bathroom was full of hair, and the room was dirty throughout. We told reception, and they said someone would clean it in the morning. We were asleep then, so around noon, after speaking to another receptionist and showing photos as evidence, we asked again and were promised a deep clean. We came back around 4 p.m. and nothing had been cleaned. Hair was still in the bathroom. The shower was horrible and we couldn’t use it, so we had to buy slippers to avoid going in barefoot. The worst part was that we showed reception the photos and they still didn’t take care of it. This isn’t clean or proper. A hotel sells a clean room, and if you’re asking guests to use it like a temporary home, it should feel like home. I don’t think anyone has a home this dirty. We even cleaned with wipes ourselves, and a little effort from housekeeping could have made the place clean. I’ve attached photos showing before and after, including the hair dryer area and toilet flush. I feel sorry for the owners, but this needs to be dealt with.

I liked how quickly the friendly staff sorted out any issue. The hotel feels peaceful and comfortable, with stylish surroundings and cozy rooms. There’s a kettle, refrigerator, air conditioning, coffee, and tea in the room, and water is available in any quantity on the floors. There’s also a shuttle to the beach.

For a budget hotel, this place offers good value and surprisingly high quality. The rooms were very clean and practical, and housekeeping is available if you ask. The location is convenient, close to the esplanade and the city. Staff are cheerful and very kind, and there’s a free shuttle to a nearby private beach. There’s also a large veranda where you can relax or work on your computer. Breakfast is the one big weakness. It’s very limited, just one small plate that won’t fill you up, so plan your meals accordingly. It’s a breakfast-only hotel. I’d rate it 4.3/5 for a budget hotel.

I spent ten days at Mori club in January 2024. It was ideal for a quiet, independent solo traveler who wants kind staff around but also appreciates being left to do their own thing. I felt welcome and safe, and the atmosphere was very humane. The simplicity of the place gave me the space I needed to think, read, write a gargantuan amount, go for walks and jogs, and just do my own stuff. I enjoyed the regular breakfasts and will keep Mori Club in my heart for a long time. The room could have been vacuumed a bit better, but little things like that don’t bother me much, especially considering the value for the price, which I liked.
