Mira Cappadocia Hotel

We got into Cappadocia late and found this hotel on booking.com. Getting there was an adventure, up a street that looked like old Turkey, which was really cool. We loved our stay. The room was beautiful, the service was excellent, and the Turkish breakfast was free and great. We also had a long chat with the owner, who clearly cares a lot about his guests. We recommend it 100%!

Avanos felt more local, welcoming, and less touristy to us than Goreme, while still being a great base for exploring Cappadocia. Mira was a highlight of our trip, with Uğur and the staff sharing useful tips and arranging both airport transfers and a day excursion. The breakfast had plenty of options in a classic Turkish spread. We had a wonderful time here and highly recommend it.

We arrived early and were allowed into our room ahead of time. From the moment we got there, the staff told us to feel at home, and that feeling lasted throughout our stay at Mira. Booking the shuttle and tours was easy, breakfast was fantastic every morning, and our room was very spacious. There are several terraces where you can look out over the city. We absolutely loved it.

Avanos has a more relaxed feel than Gerome and the other nearby tourist towns, which suited us. Gerome and Nevsehir are only about 6-10 kms away and easy to reach, while Avanos still lets you enjoy a more typical Turkish atmosphere. The hotel sits on a slight hill in a 1000-year-old building. It’s away from the river’s busy noise but close enough to see it from the lovely patio and seating areas. There’s plenty of parking, the rooms are very clean, and the showers have hot water and great pressure. Heating and a/c both worked properly. Fared, the owner, was a wonderful host, and the staff were helpful. Breakfast was generous, and they even packed one for our trip back to the airport. When we asked, they gave us genuine advice on getting the most out of our stay.
