The reception staff, especially Mehmet, made this a terrible experience. He first said a room for two adults and a baby would be 450 TL a night after a supposed discount from 600 TL. When we said a double room was enough, he quoted 400 TL and claimed that was already discounted, effectively charging 200 TL per person instead of 150 TL. I later called and was told the double room would be 350 TL in cash. I paid 350 TL at the start, leaving 50 TL, and asked at checkout if that remainder could be waived. Mehmet immediately shouted, “Are you testing me? You will pay the money! If you don't, I'll charge you for the free parking!” My wife and child were there while he confronted me aggressively, so I paid. They seem focused on taking as much money as possible, claiming there are no vacancies. The receptionist showed no character, humanity, or professionalism. Sleep in your car, but don't stay at this hotel.

My family and I stayed for 3-4 days when they came for my military oath ceremony. The staff were attentive and helpful with our stay and just about everything else. I thought the place was very pleasant, with a lovely view. Breakfast came at the same time each day and even included several kinds of bread. Despite what some reviews say, I found the rooms and bathrooms very clean. I'd stay again if I had the time.

I ended up here for one night in late July 2019 because peak season meant I couldn't find a room in the center. Its best points are the central Ayvalık location, frontage on the main street, passable cleanliness, and sea views just a few meters away. The comfort is nearly nonexistent, though, even for the price. My room had a 37-inch CRT TV, which I never used, and a shower faucet that barely worked. Unless I held it, water leaked from the tap below, so you can imagine how comfortable the shower was. They say there's internet, but there's only a modem at reception, with no router or distribution point on the floor, so it doesn't work elsewhere. I even use a router at home. The cleanliness is only adequate. Apart from the location and reasonably clean rooms, I wouldn't choose this hotel unless I were desperate.

The location in the center is the one good thing here. We spent four days in a room that felt like a bath. The air conditioning didn't work, and even after we told them, it was never fixed, so we were left sweltering. It's an old hotel that hasn't been improved at all. There wasn't even a mini fridge, and the windows had no mosquito nets. We were miserable, and I won't choose this place again.
