Hotel Cunda Leo

The room problems were the start of it. The toilet roll holder kept coming loose, the drain blocked after every shower and flooded the bathroom, and the shower head and pole fell off the wall the first time I used them. The hotel WiFi was very weak and annoying. I tried to order dinner while the staff and owner were eating, and they said they'd serve me after they finished. I raised the issues with the owner and asked for some compensation because I was paying a lot for this hotel. The manager said we'd discuss it later, then didn't approach me for the rest of the day. The next morning I brought up the shower and compensation again. He offered a Coke, which I refused because it cost less than 1€. I said dinner would be satisfactory, but he insisted a drink was all he could offer. I pointed out the price I was paying, and he said it was my choice to stay and that I was paying much less than the normal rate. I paid 1220TLR a night. The next morning I told him I wasn't happy with how he'd spoken to me and that ignoring me had felt passive aggressive. He replied, “I am the owner and I can speak to you like this.” I was shocked, especially given my customer service background. He said he could treat me however he wanted because he owned the place. Seeing him around made me uncomfortable, and I didn't feel welcome. There was no resolution, and I wouldn't stay there again. I'm extremely disappointed that I spent so much on a hotel run by someone like him. When I left, he gave me dinner complimentary, but told me not to speak to staff that way when I was in another state in Turkey. I found that patronising. He should learn how to look after guests. A little understanding of my frustration and some care could have defused things earlier, fixed the problem, and offered compensation. I could have been happy and enjoyed the stay. The breakfast was very good, and the staff were friendly.
